Choose Yours.

Thursday, 3 December 2009

i just did some serious photoshopping.

life would be better if money had kylies face on it

AND photoshop is soooo clever, it doesn't let you scan in money incase you're tryna be baad! not even if you fold it in half.

microsoft however has no problem with it. wordd.

Only one more week in this studio areaa :(

ima miss it real bad.
but my new one will have macs.
winwinwinwinwin

Loook at my advent calender :)
Everyone wishes they had one too
AND my 500 days poster loveeeeeeee

and just ♥ this picture.

Choose your cup size....

<3 cakeeys and rounds things

Not so much love diets and skinny things.......

Just doodling consumerism.....

you're soo vaain

So I really really wanted Efa to come model for me for these, but it was her brothers birthday yesterday and she has hockey today and going to london tomorrow etc etc, so I had to get someone else behind the lens and be the model myself.

I wanted pictures that showed confident and shy, but I found it super hard to do the confident ones and we ended up taking lots and LOTS. but I'm pretty pleased with the finished pieces!

Theeeese.... don't really say anything but i think they're pretty !

Aren't they Love?!

In other news i have decided to take vis com as my specialism, so expect a lot of photoshop for the rest of the year.
it includes lens based media too so be careful if you see me and you're looking too pretty/interesting/bad/silly/drunk/angry. all makes for an awesome photograph!

ALSO! anyone wanting to buy me a macbook for christmas that would be great, k, thanks.

printt

After being so so encouraged by Rose, (our life model, strangely enough), to ARCHIVE, ARCHIVE, ARCHIVE!, i now have no hesitation in wasting time scanning in work to put on a silly blogspot. not that i really did before.

Printttttttttttt
It's still a bit of a sore subject, but basically, my tutor thought my photoshop version that i did as an initial idea for the library competition was better than the painting i did. :(
so after a lot of internal debate and asking everyone ever, including the librarian! i decided to go along with her and submit this one. apparently a lot of paintings and drawings have been entered but nothing like this so I do think it was a good choice, and a really great image.
and the painting will look great in my portfolio whereas i would have had to just put a picture in !

100 things challenge

In our induction, Pete Bod asked us to make a book of 100 things we couldn't live without.
But the way he said it was kindof... mmmm... if you want to.
So I don't think anyone did, but now we've been given our list of submission requirements and it's on there so everyone is rushing to make one.

I spent almost the whole of today making mine, but it is so. so. beautiful.
i hand stitched it all together and everythingg.

you have to see it in real life to fully appreciate it but awwwwwwwwww

Front cover and inside front cover.
It's mainly the outside that makes it so beautiful.
The drawings inside are all just really simple line drawings, like this one.

Back Cover and inside back cover.

ima paste the list in here cos katie asked me too, but it's not as good as a list because some of the things are there mainly cos i wanted to draw them. it's in no order at allll, annddd i didnt include live things or real food.

Library Competition

At the start of term our tutor told us about a few competitions going on, and one of them was 'Express Yourself', to design Something that would encourage people to go to the library.
But it was open to plays, poems and stories as well as art so i have No idea what they are looking for.
But anyway, I thought it would be a nice piece of work for my self directed folder and here it is all finished! Annd the prize is £500 in high street vouchers...!

The deadline is Tuesday so I had a little bit of a panic this evening but i'm actually pretty chuffed with it!

Charcoal and Chalk.

Just a still life object drawing but I thought it was one of my best so far so it deserved to get on the blog! It's just got good form I think.

Memory Blocks

Memory blocks project was a bit lamee,
Well, actually that's a bit unfair, it was pretty good, but it was so long ago now and I still haven't finished the research for it so that's why it's annoying me. The final pieces are pretty damn cool though ! :

PSYCHOGEOGRAPHY.

Our Mini Ceramics brief was Pyschogeography.
Pete, our tutor who I love and think is fantastic, wanted us to go for a walk and try and get lost, taking notes pictures and sketches on our feelings and whatever else happened.
I went to llyn llech owain so it was pretty hard for me to get lost there, but I pretended I did a little for the sake of the brief !
I then made a little book of what I did, even though it wasn't really required.... part of my plans to get pete to like me best maaybe?
And anyway here it is:

This is where the ceramics comes in !
Because it was a walking brief, we started by making a plaster cast of the bottom of our shoe.
Really, this was just to teach us how to work with plaster, but it was good fun, and everyone was laughing at how tiny cute my feet are :) :

THEN! Using all of that, we made a vessel from clay.
When I started mine I had No clue what it was going to turn out like, and when I made this kind of vase thing it collapsed a bit, giving it a kindof organic shape, which I actually really liked! So instead of keeping it all neat I ripped the excess clay from the top to give it a rough kind of unfinished look.
It still hasn't been glazed so the colours aren't right but here he is::

Photography !

Today I had my first photography session, and tbh I wasn't really looking forward to it because all of the groups that had already done it had complained about how it was so boring just waiting around all day for your turn, but we were allowed to play around with a digital camera but real lighting and everything and it was so So fun and silly ! I hadn't really planned on being actually In the photos, I thought we were taking pictures of objects not ourselves, or I may have made a little more effort.!
Still ! Very funny day and some preeetty cool pictures too :) ::
